Image

STOP THE SOPA & PIPA!

CSS is keeping me busy

Image
Since I am learning CSS this week, I've been busy with it.  I will try to blog as much as I can, just to keep this site updated.  Hope you understand that I am not doing any CSS tutorial, because making the tutorial takes time and I have to meet some deadline that I set this year.  I've made a link for you guys to start with the XHTML.  The link is on top of the page, just click it to download the PDF file.

God speed!

www.mariacarpio.com is now online!

Image
Yeepee!!!  I am happy to announce that http://www.mariacarpio.com/ is online now!

The funny thing is, when you visit that website it points back to this blog.  LOL!

I will keep mariacarpio.com as it is for now.  I am still busy working on my personal project, and that is learning XHTML, CSS and other website administration tools.

Again, have a great day ahead!

done with XHTML

Image
It was a refreshed/recalled for me as I already know the HTML coding a long time ago.  Two thumbs up to Bucky from http://www.thenewbostong.org/, he nailed it.  More power to him and more tutorial from him.  If you want to know what I am saying, visit his website and checkout his tutorial and watch/listen how he explain things in a layman's term.

Honestly, It took me some time to finished the online tutorial for XHTML (only), the reason being was, while I was listening/watching the tutorial, I am typing down notes and realizes, that the notes I have could be useful to share with others.

I am done with the PDF document and ready to upload in a few hours.  Meantime, I am back to work.

Have a great day ahead!

10 gears I use, to make myself sane at home.

Image
That's me.  I took that picture today to reveal the gears I have at home.  Also, I am going to submit this picture to "365 Photography Club/Contest for 2012" by Michael.  For more information here's the link.

My gears are:

LaptopUSB hubexternal bubble Speakers (amazing sound from A/L and thanks to MA)external mic (from Creative, good performance and mostly used in skype)external Keyboard & Mouse (just fancy)extended 36" TV (mostly used for coding and watching movies)3 external Hard Disk (1TB, 150GB, 120GB)2 thumb drive (4GB & 1GB)e-cigarette (display.  I'm not a smoker)post-it (for reminder).  I don't like using the e-post it, cause I still end up missing out something. So there it goes, what are your gears?

The best Christmas gift!

Image
I remember when I was a kid, my parents made us believe that Santa Claus was the one giving gifts in our empty-hanged-cleaned-beautiful-socks in the plastic-made christmas tree.

The gift was nicely wrapped with ribbons and cards.  I would say, they spent time wrapping it and there I was, opening the gift in 10 seconds with my tiny hands.

When I turned teen, there were no more Santa Claus, but rather they give cash as a gift.  So, it will be easier to buy the things I like.

After college, entering the world of young professionals, I was the one, wrapping the gifts for my family.  It's the other-way-around.  Buying gifts, thinking what to give and wrapping it up.  But seeing them, opening those gifts with the smile, enthusiasm & giggling were really something, something worth watching.

Now that I am middle-age, far from home, far from family and no relatives/family in Dubai.  But still, I got a gift that it doesn't need a gift-wrap, ribbons or cards.  It is all online and …

Happy Birthday Mom!

Web Development - Learning Stage - Q1

My personal project starts now :)  Actually, it was yesterday that I started reading about Web Development.  Yes, you read it right, Web Development.  The question that pops up in my head was, "How can I become a Web Developer or Programmer?"  So then, I came up making my personal project.

The learning stage for this project will be for the first quarter of the year.  Since, I already have a background in HTML coding, I will have to continue learning for the Q1.

2012 - Happy New Year!

Image
I must admit, I wasn't that productive last year.  Up's and down's came back and forth, and I am happy to say, that I handle it nicely.  Though, from August to December of last year, all things happened for a reason.  It was magical and I am hoping that it will continue this year, following year and for the rest of my journey.

For some reason, I will not list down my new years resolution.  I would rather keep it one-day-at-a-time basis.  Don't make me wrong, I've made goals to work on this year.  Again, I will not list them down yet.  You'll see the updates in this blog as I go through on my project.  I guess it means, that I will be more active blogging this year.  Wish me luck :)

So again, Happy New Year everyone!  May we all have the best of luck for another 12 months of our lives.

Till then...

Hangin tough,

-Tati
